This song has been covered by so many bands, but the original is the best!
Ah when the irish had a strong sense of self. This was the Ireland I searched for in vain throughout my childhood in the 80s. It just seemed to pack up and leave us after Luke went. Last of the great Celtic Bards R.I.P
Luke Kelly made the Irish folk songs happen in the world 🌎
Luke will always be the greatest Irish Folk Singer! Blessings to Ireland 🇮🇪 🙏. Rest in Peace, Luke.
Luke would never have taken the jabs. And he would never have tried to sell us out like the fake gov.😊

Amazing version . A true Irish band....God Bless them , those with us , and those we have lost .
I'm a Scottish woman brought up to love the Irish and believe our history is forever intertwined and we were all oppressed by the same enemy and had each others back's. I was brought up on Irish rebel songs and never fail to shed a tear when I play them. 😢
Am I the only one who learnt this as "She's the belle of Dublin city?"
TIL Robin Williams played banjo for the Dubliners

I shed 1 tear and I’m not even Irish
Ronnie was well loved by my gran and was always played in my Grans house before she became ill. He was my motivation to go over the Irish Sea and explore where my roots began I’ve always wanted to visit Dublin but never got the chance to but after listening to the Dubliners and the Irish music then I made sure it would finally happen. I’m proud of my Irish heritage and on Monday I will be able to explore further into how my ancestors lived. Thank you Ireland for bringing so much joy to my life. 🇮🇪☘️
Come twelve months since October since I've left me native home after helping in Killarney boys to bring the harvest home. Fuck this goes hard
